After 42 years of dedicated service to his clients, Verne retired in December 2020. He is proud to leave his clients in great hands with his daughter Taea, with wonderful support from the whole Takagi team, including Taea's husband Grant, her uncle David, and her cousin Megan. Verne was born and raised on Oahu and graduated from Iolani High School. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Hawaii. Verne joined the family business in 1978 and dedicated his time and energy to clients for 42 years.
Before retiring, Verne was a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and held Series 7, 24, 51, and 63 securities licenses as well as his Life, Health, Property & Casualty, and Variable Annuity insurance licenses. He is the past President of the East Honolulu Association of Life Underwriters and the past Director of the Hawaii Chapter of the Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultants (ChFC). He is also the past president of the Tantalus Community Association and previously served on the board of Oahu Country Club.
Verne still enjoys gardening and playing golf, and he is looking forward to spending more time with his wife, children, and grandchildren during retirement.
